Founding UXUI Design

I have the opportunity to work with the start up team to build a platform that allows woman to travel together safer and more affordable night journeys by helping users build up trust community to help each other.

 

As a founding contractor UXUI designer, I redesigned high-fidelity wireframes, clickable prototypes, UI design, integration strategies, user flows for the mobile app also branding, to improve user engagement through streamlined navigation and enhanced functionality.

       Overview

London's crime rate is rising, the cost of living is high, and it is challenging for women to travel alone at night. Culturally, in a big city like London, it is difficult to quickly build trust and support among strangers.

Problem

Goals

Starting with universities across London, encourage more female users to join, connect, and build trust, also reduce their traveling expensed. In a city with high mobility and a lack of trust between people, foster a culture of mutual support among women.

 

For the company, this will also help attract more investment and sponsorship from advertisers.

The previous design strategy included ID verification, school verification, and trip matching. However:

  1. It is overly functional with weak brand association.

  2. The process is too complex, with excessive text on each page—buttons and navigation need simplification.

  3. The color scheme and design should better align with female aesthetics.

  4. More interactivity is needed, including chat features, trip sharing, and a fun reward/feedback system.

My Product Strategic for Brand and Growth

  1. Trust-Based Rating System                                                                                                                                                  Inspired by dating apps' quick recognition models, users will have personality tags and mutual ratings after each trip. This helps strangers build trust quickly and encourages users to maintain a good reputation, fostering a stronger GHS community culture.

   2. One-Tap Emergency Alert

      A built-in panic button during trips to enhance safety and peace of mind.

   3. Close Friends Trip Sharing

       A simplified system for sharing trips with trusted friends, reducing the need for excessive messaging while ensuring safety.

    4. Referral & Rewards System

        Encourage users to invite friends and engage with the community through incentives, helping GHS grow its network faster and strengthen its support system.

        Replace the complex matching and registration process with an intuitive swipe-based system tailored to different female users.

   2. Bold Branding & Visual Appeal                                                                                                                          

       Incorporate a vibrant company slogan, striking graphics, and streamlined buttons to replace the previous overly functional design. 

   3. Integrated Social Features                                                                                                                                               

       Introduce a simplified social networking function to foster a stronger community.

   4. Enhanced Chat Experience

       Increase interaction frequency with a chat interface designed to resonate with younger users.

   5. Expanded Sharing & Engagement Tools

       Enable users to share trips, take photos, receive route recommendations, and rate each other for a more interactive and engaging experience.
